You can read it. So why can't you say it?

Most of us learn a language with our thumbs. Then someone asks a simple question and our brain goes blank. Speaking is a separate skill, and the only way to build it is to speak. Louddy is built for exactly that.

How it works

Three steps. Mostly talking.

  1. 1

    Pick your focus

Choose a language, your level and a goal: travel, work, family, or just finally being able to chat.

  2. 2

    Practise out loud

Talk with Lou in real time. Order coffee, ask for directions, small-talk. Lou answers out loud and keeps the conversation going.

  3. 3

    Learn from every session

Lou corrects you as you go and turns your mistakes into the next things you practise. Three new words a day keeps it light.

Questions people ask

Is Louddy good for complete beginners?

Yes. Tell Lou you're brand new and you start with short, useful phrases you hear first and then say out loud. You never have to type an essay or know grammar terms to get going.

I already speak a bit. Will I get bored?

No. Pick "I can handle basic conversations" or "I'm conversational and want polish" and Lou talks to you at that level: real roleplays, follow-up questions and corrections on the things you still get wrong.

Which languages can I learn?

Right now 52 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese and 39 more. Some languages come in more than one flavour, like Spanish from Spain or Latin America and Portuguese from Portugal or Brazil.

What happens to my voice?

Louddy only listens while you're doing a speaking exercise or talking with Lou. To understand you and answer in real time, your audio is processed by our AI speech provider. You can stop any conversation at any time. The privacy policy has the details.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The yearly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.

What are tutor moods?

Lou can teach you in 12 moods, from Normal and Strict to Grandma, Pirate and Savage, which roasts every mistake (all in good fun). You can switch moods any time.

You can take the quiz and set up your plan on this website. The full speaking tutor lives in the Louddy app for iPhone and Android.
